In addition to the provision of moorings and launching facilities the Board also offers a range of general services and facilities to harbour users BOAT STORAGE There is space at the Board’s premises on Ferry Road for dry storage of up to 12 vessels on trailers at the discretion of the Harbour Master. Charges are assessed on the overall length of the trailer and the maximum permitted vessel length is 27ft. Vessels stored at the Board’s premises must display a current harbour dues plaque. Unattended vehicles must not be left on the Board’s premises. Storage charges apply per season: April to September and October to March. TENDER STORAGE There is limited space at the Board’s premises on Ferry Road for storage of bona fide tenders to vessels occupying deep water moorings in the Harbour. Seasonal charges apply as above. SLIPWAY TROLLEY A slipway trolley is available at Ferry Road for hauling out small vessels (up to 8 metres) for repairs and maintenance. Use of the slipway trolley is strictly by prior arrangement with the Harbour Office and subject to conditions. Water and metered electricity are available. Launching, recovery and storage charges apply. DRYING GRID There is a half-tide drying grid adjacent to the north wall of the Harbour Office compound available for flat-bottomed or bilge-keeled vessels between 7 and 13 metres. This facility may only be used by prior arrangement with the Harbour Master. Berthing charges apply. ALONGSIDE BERTHING Vessels are permitted to berth alongside the wall or on the compound slipway at Ferry Road by prior arrangement. Berthing charges apply. LABOUR AND EQUIPMENT The Board provides services afloat for transport, towing, mooring services and general assistance. All marine services are chargeable per hour, with a minimum charge of 15 minutes. The Board’s vehicle is also available to provide assistance ashore. Minimum charge 15 minutes.
