Visitors - yachts, day sailors or slipway launched craft - are always welcome at Langstone Harbour.

Yachts - There is deep water at the harbour entrance at all states of the tide (although shoals either side of the entrance channel extend well out into the Solent and the ebb and flow streams into the Harbour are strong). Visitors moorings (when laid) are on the East side of the Run, south of the Harbour Office.  The moorings on the West side of the Run belong to the Eastney Cruising Association and should not be used without the prior consent of the Association.

Fuel, water and waste reception facilities are available at the Hayling pontoon and Southsea Marina. There are also pump-out facilities at the marina. Harbour Office call up - Channel 12/16, Working frequency Channel 12.

Slipways - Public slipways beside the Harbour Office in Ferry Road, Hayling; south of the ECA in Ferry Road, Eastney; and in the Broadmarsh Coastal Park, off the A27, Havant.

Marina - Southsea Marina in the shelter of Eastney Lake in the southwest of the harbour lies to the west of Eastney Point ferry staging and is accessible 3 hours each side of high water - a waiting pontoon is available.

Speed Limit - Throughout the Harbour a slow 10 knots, in the Marina Channel 5 knots.

Water Skiing - allowed by licensed vessels only (licenses available from the Harbour Office to members of the Langstone Harbour Water Ski Association [LHWSA]) and only in the designated zone.  The water ski area is not a go fast zone and only vessels actually towing a LHWSA skier are permitted to exceed the slow 10 knot harbour speed limit.

Jet Skis - may launch at public slipways in the Run subject to permit from the Harbour Master, but must proceed directly to sea to operate at speed.  Jet Skis are not allowed in the mooring areas.  There is a speed limit of a slow 10 knots in all parts of the harbour.  Use the link on the right to go to the  Hayling Island PW Club (HIPWC) website and find out more about using your ski in Langstone Harbour.

Seaworthiness - Please make sure that your vessel is fit for use in all respects.  In particular, it is important that your engine is reliable. Our patrol staff afloat will render assistance if they can but there will be a charge for their services.
