Pilotage

The Langstone Harbour Board is the Competent Harbour Authority for Langstone Harbour under the Pilotage Act 1987 and Pilotage in Langstone Harbour is compulsory for vessels over 48 metres length.

Vessels should notify the requirement for a pilot to the Harbour Board not less than 24 hours in advance.  The boarding and landing of pilots is undertaken by arrangement with Southampton CHA.The boarding point is 1.5 miles south of the Langstone Fairway pile.
