Footpath
|
Langstone Harbour is almost unique in having a level footpath around most of its 14 mile shoreline. Using the ferry to cross the entrance, the Harbour can be circled in a little more than four hours, or provide a more leisurely days walking, taking advantage of the numerous pubs along the route. Abundant car parks and public transport allow the shoreline to be walked in stages.
The Langstone Harbour Board, with the help of the Friends of Langstone Harbour, Hampshire County, Havant Borough and Portsmouth City Councils are making improvements to the path in several places and have produced a leaflet to describe and publicise the route. To receive a FREE copy of the leaflet, please send a stamped, self addressed envelope to the Harbour Office, address on our enquiries page. An online version is now available here: text ; map . The Friends of Langstone Harbour also organise an annual walk round the Harbour, usually on the last Saturday in September - see the events page towards the time for more details.
