DIET: Grain, acorns, seeds, shoots and roots

DISTRIBUTION: Widespread throughout Europe, often seen in coastal and marshy areas, as well as urban areas such as parks with ponds

FACT: Mallard often feed during the night, when they feel safer out of the water on dry land
